Plant protection cell is one of the most important cells of the Directorate of Agriculture, Assam. Crop production associated with the quality of the produce as well as safe health of flora, fauna and sound environment largely depend on application of plant protection measures.

Recent days, Bio-pesticides have been playing suitable role in pest management which is eco friendly and sustainable when used in judicious manner. Exposure to the farmer for its application with result oriented basis may increase its adaptability that lead to better health to the crop, human, animal and the environment

Farmers are to be oriented for their skill development with feasible techniques of estimation of the Pest, disease estimation through Agro Eco System Analysis (AESA) and its potential damage to the crop.

So, the main thrust is focused on judicious use of chemical pesticides giving equal importance on bio-pesticides to bring down the ETL of pest and disease infestation for quality and sustainable production of varied crops without creating health hazard and disturbing eco-system.
